Mountains Low Tatras spreads between upper flows of rivers Vah and Hron. They belongs to Carpatian Mountains. They bound Liptov fold from north and Horehronie from south. The lenght of mountains is aprx. 80 km and average width 30 km. They are bounded by river Revuca and sag Sturec in west. They neighbour with mountains of Velka Fatra and Starohorsky river. They neighbour with sag Popova (1056 m) in east and with road which connected region of Spis and region of Gemer.
The touristic most interesting (because of high-mountain iced relief) is middle part of Low Tatras. There is placed the highest hill of Low Tatras - Dumbier (2043 m). The best known valley is Demanovska. You can make many interesting tours in these untouched forests.

Demanovska valley has the deepest system of caves in Slovakia (cave Stary Hrad -432 m), Demanovsky carst is the longest carst system in Slovakia (24 km). The oldest reserve in Low Tatras is reserve Priboj (year 1895). The oldest guard tree is Corvin´s Lime-tree (700 years). The highest waterfall is Brankovsky waterfall (55 m). The biggest lake is Vrbicke pleso (1,8 ha). The largest reserve is Skalka (2.695 ha). The highest situated village is Magurka (1100 m above sea level).
